Hi

Am I right in thinking that some women did not register under the census 1911 as they were suffragettes?

It would appear you are indeed correct.

A google search using 1911, census, suffragette found a number of hits referring to the action including:

Regards,Thank you Phil and Procat for a very interesting glimpse at a fascinating woman and for alerting us to the possibiliy that some of our female ancestors may be "missing" when we get access to the 1911 census in 2012 (assuming we all live that long :) ).
