Hi I`m a Newbie, and I was hoping all you lovely people out there could help me with a brick wall.

My G.G.Grandfather Thomas Sanson baptised Cockburnspath 23 Feb 1807 in Secession Church.

Wife Katie/Catherine Kennedy born Colmonnoll Ayrshire Circa 1816.

They were married in ? Possibly Edinburgh Pre 1845 when first son born, Gilbert Circa 1845

In 1851 Census 60 Su Grays Close Edinburgh with 3 sons all born Edinburgh.

1861 Census they are in Glasgow with 2 of original sons and 1 new baby born Glasgow 1856 Died 1863.

I have their deaths and census records but can find no record of marriage, I am Fairly certain They would have married as all the family were Free Church and Secessional, but cannot find records of Free or Secessional Churches in Edinburgh.

Can any one out there help me Lynn:

In Eric Rankin's book
"Cockburnspath- A documentary history of a border parish" in
Appendix no 19 there is a list of indwellers from the ledger of James Aitchison, general merchant, Cockburnspath in which two Sansons are named.
1 1803 John Sanson, weaver
2 1806 Thomas Sanson, weaver
both at Dene Mill.
This may be of some help.
