Hi

I've just come across a 1951 Census record stating the occupation as 'Duch Labourer.' Has anyone come across this before please? Could it possibly refer to a 'ditch' labourer?

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Regards
Catherine

The Borough Gaol eh?;)

He's shown as a Dock labourer.

Hi Peter

Yes, the borough gaol was quite a surprise for me also! I've only recently discovered that information and need to find out how I obtain some further details. If it is the correct Michael Foy, he married in 1856.

Re: the dock labourer - you have been a great help and it is much appreciated.

Kind Regards
