Hello all
Is anybody able to help me please -
Rebecca SELWAY according to the 1851 census was 66 years, born Stoke Lane (about 1785). Does anybody have the Parish register for this area and could look this up for me. I would be grateful for any information.

Could you be more specific with the place, do you mean Stoke lane Bristol, or Bath or Westbury on Trym? :)

I am sorry I didn't realize there was more than one.
On the PR Marriages for Holcombe 1810 it says -
Samuel Padfield of this parish and Rebecca SELWAY - Sojourner. I found them this morning on the 1861 census and her place is given there as Holcombe. Is there a Stoke Lane near Holcombe?

Hi, bit late to be answering this thread but hopefully it will reach you anyway.
Stoke Lane (my Selway's come from here too) is in the parish Stoke St Michael and is very close to Radstock and Ashwick but there are parish records for this place. It used to be called Stoke Lane and the name was later changed.
Have a look on google maps uk.
Let me know if you find anything as Rebecca could be a possible sister for my William born 1790 Stoke Lane parents William Selway and Sarah.
