Is he the Joseph MILLER who is a Butcher in Halton, Cheshire in the 1851-71 census records? If so, the census records state that he was born in Halton c1802. There is an extracted record on the IGI of the baptism of a Joseph MILLER on 2 August 1801 at Halton, father Henry mother Helen. Also the baptism of a Helen MILLER 4 January 1796 at Halton with the same parents.

Interestingly, in the 1841 census of Middlewich (HO107/121/24, folio 7, page 5) Joseph & Mary are living at Wheelock Street with children John, Henry, Thomas, Ellen and Mary plus a George WARBURTON aged 25 also a Butcher.

If you can't get to the Records Office at Chester, then probably your best bet is to order the parish register films of both Gt Budworth and Halton from your nearest LDS Family History Centre to view at your leisure at the Centre.

Good luck

Janet
