I recently found a lot of information on my Great grandfathers service in WW1. He was a private in the Kings Liverpool Regiment, he was discharged in1916 with TB. On his records it states that he spent 8yrs 6months with the Royal Fusileers in India, he contracted malaria and was hospitalised 15 times. The records also state he served for 7 months in south Africa he was missing off the 1901 census.
William was born on 11/6/1876 to William and Sarah nee Tierney in Birkenhead, Cheshire. By 1903 he married and lived in Eccles nr Manchester . On his marriage cert in 1903 he was a labourer.
Any help would be gratefully accepted.
Also does anyone know how I could find out about his service in India and his regiment.
Thanks again
Jacqui
