I wonder if any one can tell me what AS/Misc/2189 means. It was in the remarks column of the medal record card for my wife's Grandfather A.A.W Batho. He would have been 45 years old at the outbreak of the 1914-18 war. It shows no medals but gives his regiment as the 16th Lancers, followed by the Army Veterinary Corp. He was a sergeant in both. He was still in the army after 1920 so I'll need to get a letter from his last surviving child to find out more. He married in 1920 and none of his family ever knew much about his service life.
