Beale father & son both drowned

I have a great great great grandfather William BEALE who I have been told was drowned before 19 April 1821. He was Master of ship "Alliance".

His son John BEALE was born before 29 August 1813 (Baptism date in Wyke Regis) and he drowned 16 March 1860 off South Foreland, Kent. John was (?Master) on ship "Jane".

I would be very grateful for any help with either of these people, or their ships, or any direction that I can find out more.
