Hello
Does anyone know if there was a scheme in the early 1900s that enabled railway men to emigrate to Canada? My great uncle was a porter in 1901 and boarded near Sheffield he went to Canada and worked as a checker on the canadian pacific. I have heard that workers in some jobs were given help to emigrate.
