I'm looking for the parents of William Place born Bury St Edmunds 1828/9. On his marriage certificate in 1849 he is declared as a minor and his father (also William) has the occupation listed as Grocer. In all census returns I've looked at William junior always says his birth place is Bury St Edmunds, and he is variously Grocer's assistant, Grocer or Master Grocer until the marriage of his middle son Walter when he is a labourer. William senior was alive for the wedding in April 1849 but I couldnt find him anywhere else. I have found some possible parents for William junior, but unless I can find the family together I can't see how I can select the correct set. Any help would be appreciated.
