Hi Everyone,
Just enquiring if there are any other researchers tackling our family tree.
I have most of South Australia covered and would be most interested in expanding my tree including via Victoria, New South Wales or anywhere else in Oz.

I can provide lookups too on SA BDMs

I am not related, but this info is from the Vic Pioneer cd.

Richard FRADD married Margaret O'Brien in 1861 #369
They then registered the births of 11 children from 1861 to 1883, most of them at Coghills Creek, 2 at 'Lear' and one at 'Char'. NO deaths to 1888.

Hervey FRADD died in 1886, aged 59, reg North Fitzroy, parents unk: #9075

Charlotte FRADD died 1883, aged 50, father Benjn HART, #12172

These are the only instances of this spelling in the cd (1836-1888)

13 deaths 1850-1975
10 marriages ( male surname FRADD) 1788-1955

there are 53 entries for Victoria BDMs from 1849-1888 for the COMBE surname
2 for COMBIE

Are you looking for anyone in particular? I do have the cds that cover BDMs 1889-1901, 1914-1920 as well, and then just deaths 1921-1985.
Also were you looking for any particular FRADD people?

He married Lilian Gladys CRAMP

working backwards from the 1914-1920 cd we have
Frederick John COMBE, birth reg 1919 at South Melbourne, Reg. Number: 29197

I'm sorry, I do not have the 1902-1913 cd where the marriage might be.

However, in 1890 there is this birth ...

Norman Harold COMBE, parents Lawrence COMBE and Amelia BEVEGE
reg South Melbourne, No: 25093

father given as Louis, mother as Amelia BEVEGE.
two siblings died earlier, the father given on both as Louis Laurence Combe.
Another has him as Lovis, and mum as Beveridge, but all Amelia.

I do not see any deaths of Norman's children in the Vic cd 1921-1985

But - it looks like Lillian has remarried?

It is always interesting to me to run a National Archives of Australia search on the names I see in here (incurably curious, I am) even though they have nothing to do with my family researches.

There are 11 FRADD 'hits', mostly war service.

101 'hits' for COMBE, including this intriguing entry (with several repetitions in various forms):

Christine, after I posted that little nonsense this morning, I idly typed one of my names (family of great-grandfather Tucker's first wife, the one that wasn't my great grandmother) into the search box and Hey Presto! I found info on yet another. I already had his name, no other info, but his WW2 records gave me his place (Aspley, just up the road from me) and date of birth, his wife's name, the dates of birth of two children (but not the names) and place of residence on enlistment and discharge.

Yep, it is a lot of fun, the NAA. And where else would you find someone named:

George Australasia COMBE.

I do have the 1902 - 1913 Vic bdm disc and there is no marriage for Norman Harold Combe and Lillian Gladys but there is a marriage for Norman Harold Combe and Hilda Margreta White in 1910 in South Melbourne (#7193)

"Ive since discovered a Norman Harold Combe born 23rd June 1890 in Melbourne Victoria - so this could be the same one".

He married Hilda Margreta White in 1910 in South Melbourne (#7193) who died in 1913 at 21 years of age (Norman would have been 23)

I wondered that too - there was another death around about the same time of a person with the same parents - and the age was around the same generation. But they did sometimes have kids over 30 years! so that means nothing.

Have you checked the online indexes in NSW for her birth? they may have been over the border that way.

Yes there were 2 Lilian Gladys...... Lilian Gladys Barrows m Leslie Walter Nancarrow 1941 (#6904) Victoria. I have the 1914 - 1920 Vic bdm disc and the 1921 + marriage disc and there is nothing on either of them that could help you.... sorry about that
