Hi Ambler

Many thanks for the reply. Joseph and Ann were previously married at Coldstream Bridge - an "irregular marriage". You have certainly given me something else to check - were they from Berwick Upon Tweed or Bewick?

Cheers

Hi chezw i have just finished a visit with the outlaws and my father in law
knows the Area very well, having passed worked for the Duke of Northumberland,,he states that old Bewick is next door to Eglingham a matter
of no more than 3 miles if that,,,and the old church for that area is a place i once visited but didnt know i had ,,its very small the old church of old bewick
no bigger than a small town house it looks like your Joseph and Anncame from That region,,if you didnt all ready know on the bridge a Coldstream the marrigaes took place at a licenced marriage cottage under scottish law and the cottage still exist today with a memorial plaque telling the story of the many marriages no more marriages know though
they took place there a bit like Gretna green Famouse for young couples elopeing to get married, without parents consent
