Just caught sight of the new TV series on Channel 4 yesterday (Sunday, at 5.30 pm)
Its called "Trains With Pete Waterman", and the entry in the TV listing says:
"A look at the golden years of steam, and the extraordinary lengths to which some engineers went to make sure their locomotives were the best"
Yesterdays program covered the 1930s period, including the LNER & LMS high speed runs. Next week will be the Railways in the war years.
Waterman is an enthusiast, (he bought the Flying Scotsman), and the one hour program was well worth seeing.
