Hi
Is there anybody out there that can help me.
George Williams according to 1871 census born 1857 born Norwood, Middx, London. RG10/4070 Folio 55 page 24
1881 census RG11/3694 Folio 4 page 1 - Born Middx, London
1891 census RG12/3255 Folio 38 page 30 - born Brierly Hill, Warwickshire
(this is the one that is throwing me)
1901 census RG13/3741 Folio 11 page 12 - born Bradford, Nr London
I have copies of George's marriage certificates. He married Alice Grimshaw on 30.9.1874 his father is William Williams - Boatman. George was widowed and re-married on 26.3.1891 to Elizabeth Lockley, father William Williams - Boatman.
Why would he be born in London when all his other siblings were born in Shropshire and Staffordshire. I don't know the London area at all. What would the registration district be listed under? If I can get a copy of his birth certificate it would help me so much.
I know this is a tall order, but any help would be appreciated.
regards
Ann
