I trying to find out where I can access the Parish records for Crowland. Does anyone know where these might be available to view and if possible if they are abilable to purchase on the net? Many of the parish regesters available on line seem to exclude Crowland.

Regards

Hi Stuart,
I can assure that you that neither the internet, nor indeed the world, have anything against Crowland as regards its PRs. I would suspect that, although you feel hard done by, for every PR transcription on the net that there are at least 50 unpublished ones.
The actual PRs are viewable at:
Lincolnshire Archives
Society of Genealogists in London. (Fee payable for use of library for non-SoG members.)

If you have a local LDS FHC, for a small charge they can order in the film. To find an LDS FHC
http://www.familysearch.org/Eng/Library/FHC/frameset_fhc.asp (http://www.familysearch.org/Eng/Library/FHC/frameset_fhc.asp)
You can usually purchase fiche copies of the PRs from Lincs Archives. Phone or email them, stating which years and events you require and they'll tell you the cost. http://www.lincolnshire.gov.uk/index.asp?docId=34806 (http://www.lincolnshire.gov.uk/index.asp?docId=34806)

For details of transcribed indexes, keep reading.....

The most wonderful FHS in the world, i.e.Lincolnshire FHS, have published marriage indexes for all the deaneries for 1700-1837. For Crowland's 1799 marriages plus the other 12695 in West Elloe deanery
http://www.genuki.org.uk/big/eng/LIN/lfhs/Documents/PublicationsList.pdf
They have also published Crowland burials 1813-1900, on fiche with the Deepings, Baston and Langtoft, or available on a pay-per-view basis on the very under-rated but fantastic
And if you'd really like to see more PRs on the net, then when you look for your own people how about transcribing a few years to go on FreeREG?
