Archive Books Virus?

I recently received an E-mail from Archive Books (the name Rod Neep clearly displayed)- being a customer I didn't think twice about opening it. A new window opened informing me of the offers available. Okay so far.

This morning I received 42 new E-mails all regarding Archive Books form people whose names I did not recognise. Needless to say I deleted them all without opening them.

Has anyone else had this problem and if so how can it be stopped.

It wasn't a virus.

"just" a deranged hijacker who made emails go round in circles.
