Your offer is most generous Poppy and I would like to seek your help.

John Rice born abt. 1880 Killies Lane, Belper, Derbyshire, came to Australia as an adult - Date unknown. Parents were John Rice and Emma.

Thank you for your kind offer Poppy.

I have a William PEILL who doesn't appear to have returned to England with his parents c.1867 so may have stayed on in Australia. On his sister's birth cert in 1865 it lists him as aged 11 yrs so presume that means he was still living then & I hope he lived on to adulthood.
All his sibling were born Ballaarat, Victoria so it is possible he stayed in that area. He was born 1853 in Westmoreland, England & his parents were John PEILL & Eleanor THOMPSON.

Sally

Thank you Poppy, I really appreciate your efforts to find him. I guess he is going to remain a brickwall. The only elderly relative I have left refuses to discuss him as he is considered to have 'shamed' the family.
