Hello All,

I am looking for any information on a women called Ann EDDS. I believe she was born in Westbury, Wiltshire c1821. I think her parents are called John EDDS & Lucy (Possible ALLEN). Lucy is listed in the census as being born in Westbury c1792 / 1796. John EDDS was from Somerset.

If anybody has information on Ann's baptism or the marriage of her parents then I would love to hear from them.

Regards

I have found a christening of Ann Edds born 28.3.1821
c 4.3.1827 in Westbury to George & Mary

Also Emma born 8.2.1826 and Samuel b 21.6.1823 all christened 4.3.1827 in Westbury.

I also looked on the National Burials but its not the lastest one and not many Edds but I did find 2 burials in Newton Tony St Andrews Wiltshire
Elizabeth 20.11.1807 and Jhan 14.11.1808
looked for the christenings and found
Elizabeth c 20.5.1807 Newton Toney
Than Nov 1808 Newton Toney (Jhan in the Burials)
Parents George and Elizabeth
marriage of George Edds and Elizabeth Rose 13.8.1803 Fisherton Anger.

Now if this is the same George he is moving around and possibly married more than once. I have found 2 burials for George one is in Devon 1852 no age the other in Pancras 1868 born abt 1794.

Do you know were Ann married and who.

The widow of Mr EDDS, Hannah is listed as a widow in the 1851 Census.

Hi Alex

They only way of telling is to get both marriage certificates. Not only should the fathers of Mr Edd and Ann be the same but you may even get one or other as a witness.

I have also find the marriage of Samuel Edds and Hannah Edward, well there a good chance it's them, there are 8 names and of the 4 females Hannah Edwards is one.

Dec qtr 1845 E London vol 2 page 253

If I don't find it on Ancestry then I look on Freebmd, then I look for surname only between 5 years only.
