Hello Lady Alex

Would this tie in with the family of Benjaminn and Ann Crew? Children
Benjamin 1815 Amy c.1821 Williamc.1821 Maria 1823 George 1825 David 1827 Eliza 1831 and Martha 1833 (there may have been more).
My interest is with Eliza who married James Cox. She died in 1912.

Hi Brian
Thanks for your reply.
If this is Benjamin CREW marr to Ann ARGENT I have seen them listed before, have no proof, names are similar and I also have a Benjamin.

My major 'brickwall' starts with maternal 2 x GG
Henry CREW b.? Barnet d. 1842 Barnet Union marr 1791 at St. Dunstan's, Stepney, to Elizabeth FORSEE b.? d.?1836
their children were :
1. William Henry b/bapt 1795 at St. Matthews, Bethnal Green d. 1869 Barnet Union (Brickmaker) marr 1817 at St. Dunstan's, Stepney, to Susan/Susannah SHEPPARD/Sheperd b.c1800 at Wigginton ( I have been through P.R.'s at SOG nothing found) she supposedly had 22 children/inc 3 sets of twins, although I only have found 12 children : Betsy/Elizabeth, Eliza, Maria, Marian/Mary Ann, William Henry, Rachel Sarah, Susan, Charles Henry, Samuel Peter, George Matthew, Charles Mark & Ann Charlotte.
Some of the children were bapt/bur in Barnet and some in B.G., and I think some are unregistered. This is my line, my GG Ann Charlotte Crew was their youngest born in 1846.
2. Henry b.1796/bapt 1798 B.G. d.?
3. Benjamin b. 1800/bapt 1815 B.G. d. 1847 B.G. (Weaver) marr Maria MENOTE b. 1804 B.G. d. 1841 B.G. 7 or 8 children born.
4. Daniel b/bapt 1807 B.G. d.?

Another descendant cousin verified St. Matthews, Bethnal Green, P.R.'s. a couple of years ago.
Five of my Gt Grandmother's siblings emigrated to Canada and Australia, and I am in contact/have met some descendants visiting us in the 1970's, they all have fantastic tales of Susan's mother being Marie de Fawcett, a French Huguenot who worked for the Duke of Rutland and married a William Shepherd, but no proof for anything has ever been found, like the early Crew's, if only they had used unusual second christian names life would be so much easier.
Not a lot of help is it ? thanks, anyway
