Hullo All,

I have hit two brick walls and wonder if anyone can help provide information on the parents of the following.

Unfortunately, I live a long way from Hereford and cannot do the Register searches.

John Watkins Born ("") about 1821 at Staunton on Wye

John Jones born Clodock about 1817

Many thanks.

Watkins & Jones are very common names in the area. However, found the following in the 1841 census:
HO107/420/3 page 5 folio 30, Munnith Furdin, Longtown, Clodock, Herts.
John Watkins 30 farmer
Blanch 32
Richard 15
John 13
Ann 7
Mary 2

John Jones 22 MS [male servant]
Elizabeth Watkins 14 FS [female servant]

They were all in the same household, all born in the county, ages 15+ were supposed to be rounded down to nearest 5 years.

Sorry Restless
I've just looked again at my posting & realised I put "Herts". I meant to put "Herefordshire". Also found in 1841 census:
HO107/422/23 p2 f12 Letter Court, Staunton on Wye, Herefordshire
Thomas Waring 40 farmer Y
John Watkins 20 M.S.. Y
Martha Watkins 25 F.S., N
There are also other servants at the farm. & Warings. No indication on the census of any family relationship between John & Martha, only that the servants are not part of the Waring family group.
