I have been trying for a long time to find out who my great grandfather's parents were. He was metioned in the 1901 census as Charles Judge, age 46, a farrier, born in Reading.
BMD records only show 2X Charles Judge - born 1855 but both in Henley.
1901 census also records his son, Charley, aged 4, my grandfather.
My grandfathers birth certificate gives parents as Charles Judge and Alice Judge (formerly Lucy).
I can't find a marriage record to support this.
1881 census shows a Charles Judge from Swyncombe, a farrier, of the same age, but married to someone else.
Does anyone know where I can look to find more information on my great grandfather - ie parents, siblings, and other sons/daughters.
