A Lewis Young mrd Eleanor Griffiths in 1808 at Walwyn’s Castle.

A Henry Young of Brawdy married Eleanor Lile at Whitchurch 19 Feb 1835.

Lewis Young married Martha Wilcox in the Pembroke Registration District Vol 11a Page 1053 in the 2nd Qtr of 1864.
Pembroke Registration District basically covers all parishes in the old Castlemartin Hundred.

A Henry Young was baptised at Walton West in 1815
A Thomas Young was baptised at Walton West in 1819
A Sarah Young was baptised at Walton West in 1814
The will of Rees Young of Walton West reference nbr 1791/048 may be of interest.

Pater or Paterchurch is the old name for the modern town of Pembroke Dock. Registers for the town of Pembroke Dock start around the 1840 mark, but the church (Pembroke Dock St John in Bush St), becomes recognized at the town Anglican parish church in the 1860’s.

All the following are based on the ages as per your listing from the 1871 census of Prospect Row Pater (Pembroke Dock)
William the 54 yr old Cordwainer. From my index of Pembroke St Mary Baptism Register 1822 to 1847 I note
15 Dec 1816 William to William & Maria Griffiths of the Green a labourer bapt by Wm Lloyd
21 May 1817 William to George & Jane Griffiths of Pembroke Mason bapt by Geo Jones
25 Mar 1818 William to David & Harriet Griffiths of Pembroke a Whitesmith bapt by Wm Lloyd.
William the 45 yr old Cordwainer. From my index of Pembroke St Mary Baptism Register 1822 to 1847 I note
25 Feb 1824 William to Thomas & Elizabeth Griffiths of the Dock a shipwright baptised by C. Phillipps
24 Dec 1826 William Harries to William & Jane Griffiths of the Dock a shipwright baptised by C. Phillipps
11 Nov 1827 William to Abel & Hester Griffiths of the Dock a Mason baptised by C. Phillipps
William aged 34 shoemaker. From my index of Pembroke St Mary Baptism Register 1822 to 1847 I note
10 Jan 1838 William the natural son of Sarah Griffiths of the Poorhouse baptised by J. Dalton.

From my index of Burgesses 1711 to 2006 I note among the Griffiths
William Griffiths a Shoemaker of Pembroke Dock admitted 29 Apr 1861 Admin Bk 19 Page 49. He had been apprentice to Jno Mathias who had been admitted as Burgess previously.

I have had great difficulty in equating the information given in the 1871 census with any events in the Registers of Pembroke St Mary or Pembroke St Michael, I am beginning to think either whilst they might have been born in Pembroke Town all events have taken place at Pembroke Dock St John or that they are non conformist.

Find My Past (FMP) has the 1868 baptism record of Clarissa Matilda Young, at Hubberston, Pembrokeshire.

In your opening post you call her Clarissa Maude Young.

Before anyone gets carried away chasing totally the wrong people, let's have a bit of a check. :smile5:

my grandfather albert william lewis born 27 jan 1901
nelson st penner pembrokeshire he died june 1971 in london his parents were
william henry lewis mother clarissa maude lewis formerly young
So I'm assuming from that you have his birth certificate.
And after doing minimal checking, I'm also assuming that it actually says his forenames are Albert William Edwin?
Is his mother's name definitely Clarissa Maude, or Clarissa Matilda, as per her marriage certificate? On the marriage certificate, what ages are given for both William and Clarissa, and what are their fathers' names and occupations? (All these extra details should provide further proof that you are following the correct families back in time. It's extremely dangerous to rely on one document.)

In post #2, Julie found Albert with his parents and at least some of his siblings in the 1901 census.

In the fourteen years since your first post have you searched the previous censuses (1891, 1881, 1871) to check the accuracy of father William's birth year and place? Also since then, the 1911 census and the 1939 Register have been released so there are two further sources to check, and sites such as Findmypast (FMP) and Ancestry have added many parish registers. FMP for example have Pembroke baptisms, marriages, and burials. Have you checked any of those, and if so, what have you found to save us duplicating your research?

Re Clarissa and her family, again, have you checked the 1881 and 1891 census to prove the accuracy of the ages and birthplaces given in the 1871 and 1901 census?

As the 1901 census (see post #2) says Albert's birthplace was Pembroke Dock, I would assume the answer is yes.
