Hi Willow

Thanks for the reply. Richard is my brother! We have more info, but I tried three times yesterday to add it to my first post, but it disappeared the first time and twice I got the page unavailable notice, so I gave up!! |computer| Will try again if anyone wants to know.

I have a Richard Hawkins married to Joan Hellings in Milverton in 1725. No details on their places/dates of birth.

They had 4 kids (so far) in Milverton - Robert, John, Mary & Henry - born between 1726 and 1738.

Any connection?

How far is Evercreech from Milverton? Milverton is near Wellington and Taunton.

Hi BurrowDigger

Evercreech is nearer to Wells in the north of the county, so probably not the same family. Apparently Hawkins is a very common name in Somerset, Devon, Dorset and Wiltshire - they may well all be related, but some time back.
