Visited Clwyd street Wallasey a couple of days ago as wanted to see no 1 and no 7 where some ancesters had lived. When I got there, only even numbers were standing!!!!! It could only happen to me!!!! Where the odd numbers should have been there were some brick garages!!!!!! Does anyone know where the odd numbers went!!!! Wondered if they had been destroyed during WW2? Any info would be grateful appreciated - thank you all for reading this!!!! have just looked at 1901 census - could be new brighton not Wallasey - maybe thats where the odds went!!!!!!!!!

You are right, Clwyd St was bombed during WWII. High explosive bombs fell on it during heavy raids December 20/21/22 1940 ("Wallasey at War 1939, including Moreton & Leasowe", published for Wallasey Historical Society by Ian & Marilyn Boumphrey).

By coincidence, we are buying a flat in the area which is also on the site of a bomb hit on 20th Dec 1940.

Are you the same Wirral senior member answering my other questions in quick quick time? Fab info once again!!!! Fortunately, our lot were well out of there when WW2 came - sorry for those that were not. Hope all goes well with your flat purchase. Many thanks for your help.
