Hoping someone can find this lad for me in 1841.
Joseph Stingers born 1834 Alston, Cumberland
He will most likely show up in HALDON household - mother Sarah, step father Teasdale HALDON. Or he may be with relatives depending on when in 1841 John was born (in Alston). Half sister Sarah was born abt 1839.
I have the family for 1851 and 1861 thanks, also Joseph's birth and baptism from the IGI. Joseph was in Australia getting married by 1864.
thanks
Christine

Many thanks Jo
This is them,
Teasdale had a varied career! next he is a solicitors clerk, then by 1881 (as HALSON on IGI census) he has a pub. Now I have an older sister for Joseph.
Thanks Irishrose
I did mention I had the baptism from the IGI to save people looking! - he has the same parents named on his marriage here in Australia so I know it's the right one. I also possibly have Sarah's first marriage (to Isaac STANGER in 1827). Thanks for trying ancestry, as you see there aren't results with exact searches of the index.
thanks again to you both
Christine
