Hi, I am looking for information about Richard Proctor Clifford, a relation through my paternal grandmother, Ada Clifford. All I know about Richard is that he married a lady called Jane Elliot and was born about 1789
in Appleby Westmorland. The banns of his marriage to Jane were published at Bramptom Church on 12th,19th,26th April 1812 but there is no record of them being married there. They lived in Wetheral at this time..This is the only 'firm' reference to him that I have found.
He had one son called Joseph who was born in 1813 and christened 10/10/1813. He was born in Brampton, Cumberland.Joseph married Mary Hetherington born in 1810. Richard only appears to have one son, so maybe he died young or was killed fighting in a war. If anyone has any info or can point me in the right direction, I would be very grateful. He really is my brick wall!
