Hi Janet,
Pallot's Marriage Index has a John Collingwood and Elizth Marshall marrying in 1802 at Limehouse St Anne.
You will of course need to check the PR (a) for any further details - such as the actual date :) and (b) to confirm that Pallot got the information correct.
It would seem that the LDS have transcripts of the PRs (which would give you the date), but if you can get to the London Metropolitan Archives they have the PRs. (well, copies of..)

Dear Pam
many thanks for looking this up for me. will go to London and find details
can you find out if an earlier John Edward Collingwood and Elizabeth (no surname) were married around 1770 London? this would solve a long line of queries.

If you're going to the LMA anyway, why not pop into the FRC (all of a hundred yards away, while they're still there :( ) and make use of their free access to Ancestry plus all their other resources?

Hi Janet,
Pallot's only goes from 1780 -1837, so no joy for your earlier John.
