Hi
I have a George Whiley b 1821 Friskney. He married Elizabeth (also b 1821 Friskney). I know that in 1881 they lived in Fishtoft. There were 3 Georges b in 1821 in Friskney, I know that this George is not the son of William & Betsy but he could be the son of Richard & Elizabeth or George & Susannah. I would appreciate any information.

Regards
Fiona

FionaFiona,

The 1871 census has a George H. WHILEY with a wife Elizabeth, both born about 1821 in Friskney, living on Wainfleet Rd in Boston. His occupation is given as "Agriculture Labourer." [Reference: RG10/3343 Folio 86 Page 2]

The 1861 census has George WHILEY with wife Elizabeth, both born about 1821 in Friskney, living on Fen Lane in Friskney. His occupation is given as "Agricultural Laborer." [Reference: RG9/2373 Folio 44 Page 6]

The 1851 census has a George H. WHILEY with wife Elizabeth both born about 1821 in Friskney and living in Friskney. "Occupation is Cottager 3 acres." [Reference: HO107/2109 Folio 90 Page 13]

To be continued...

The 1841 census has a George Harris WHILEY born about 1821 [people over 15 usually had their ages "rounded down"], living in a household in Friskney with the following people:
-- Richard WHILEY 45 Farmer
-- Elizabeth Do 45
-- Mellicent Do 13
-- Martha Do 11
-- Ann Do 8
-- John Do 6
-- Abraham Do 5
-- Richard Do 2

"Fen" is written in the inside margin. [Reference: HO107/633/14 Folio 8 Page 10]

I think the possibility is very good that your George was the son of Richard and Elizabeth...

HTH,
Trish

Hi Trish
That does help. I think you are right about George being Richard's son. Were there any children listed on the census records for George & Elizabeth......just wondered.
Thanks so much for your help

Fiona

FionaNo, Fiona. I gave you the complete listings for each year. Just George and Elizabeth by themselves.
