I am looking for information on an accident that happened at Monkton in 1903.
From family stories my Grand Uncle, Alexander Davidson, a signalman for Glasgow and South Western Railways was walking along the line, at or close to the station which existed then. Because he was deaf he didn’t hear a train coming behind him and was hit and killed instantly by the train. His date of death is given as 12/1/1903.
Can anyone help with extra info or ideas?
Elaine

do you have his death certificate ? as there is an amendment ? to it that explains what happened but there is no mention of his being deaf

Hello Suzeq,

Elaine has not been on the Brit-Gen forum since 10 August 2006 and so may not see your message.

You could try sending her a private message (PM) by clicking on her name and then on that option in the drop-down box that appears.

Thanks,
