Dear Aburrow researchers,

I am interested in the use of this name - how is it pronounced? ('Ah', 'Ay', or 'Er')

I wonder if, in my family, the "A" was dropped during the time of the Napoleonic troubles because it sounded French? or perhaps another reason.

I've only just discovered this website - 'tis excellent :0

Cheers Burrow digger. Well they seemed to change the name so often I wonder if their reasons were less than noble :-(

I think the name started as Burrow then Aburrow then Burrow again and finally Borrow. Three of my Borrows ended up in Winnipeg, but sadly the only male was killed in Ypres I think, with the Canadian mounted rifles.
