Forsters in Gateshead

Hiya, Im new to the site so any help would be gratefully appreciated!

I trying to find information about my father's family who are from Gateshead.

I have found out that my grandfather was Frank Forster who was born in Houghton in 1917. He married Mary F Bowes, who was born in 1920 in Gateshead, in 1939 and my father, Albert Forster, was born in 1942. My dad had a sister called Lillian but I have not been able to trace her on any records.

Any information you have about this branch of what I know is a very big family would be appreciated.

Have you searched the GRO index of births? If not they are available at Marshall St. Depending where you live in the city other locations such as Stockport, Sale etc may be better.

Hi, I am also a decendant from the Forsters from Gateshead, mother Rosa Forster b1925, William b1901, John 1859, Robert b1819, John b1780. If any other Forster's from Gatesheaad has or needs info please let me know.

Are your Forsters related in any way to mine? I do not know anything about my grandfather, Frank Forster, and do not know if he had any sister/brothers etc.

don't know if I'm going to confuse this thread but here it goes:-

I have a Janet L Forster born c1900 in Newcastle daughter of Edward c1878 and Jane c1879. I don't have a birth location for Edward so can't rule out Gateshead (after all there's only the river between them).
