I can't answer the question but...

1. The SoG Library has the High Wycombe PR for the period in question (a transcript I think).
2. The Mormons have filmed it.
3. Bucks FHS operate a lookup service.
4. Bucks CRO, obviously,
5. The FFHS site has half a dozen George Goddards in the 1851 census.

Hope something there is a useful pointer.

Oops! I really must get my eyes tested!!

Sorry, I don't know where I got 1839 from. Still who knows, someone else might be looking for this one so nothing lost.

Thanks folks particularly for the pointers. I know George was in Wednesbury STS in 1861 an 1871 but have no clue for 1951 - although I almost covinced myself it was him you had found Glenys!
I think I'll try the look up service.
By the way what is the FFHS?
