Please, does anyone have any information on the family of Isaac Fenton and Mary Cockin, married in Sturton le Steeple in 1770. All sources so far e.g. registers. IGI, have yielded nothing. Isaac is believed to be the son of Isaac and Mary, born 1748 in Sturton; nothing is known of Mary Cockin. The Sturton registers are in a poor way.

hae checked Notts FHS disks - baptism transcripts and marriage index, for their children, marriage and also for their baptisms.

The only item I can find which is relevant is in the marriage index:

Fenton Isaac Cockin Mary STU 13/10/1770
Sturton le Steeple is not covered by Phillimores. Nothing in ACDB Notts Marriage Licences vol 2 either.

The only Mary baptised with a relevant surname was in Basford. If you want details, can share them but thought this would be unlikely to be relevant.
