Hello. I have just started researching the Walkingshaw family. My grandmother was Sadie walkingshaw her husband Johnston. They were married in Ireland and lived there until Johnstons death in the late 1840's when the family moved to Whitehaven. I would love to hear from any members of the family or any one with info on the family.
Thanks Karina

Hello Karina, this may just be coincidence, but I have a William Johnston in my tree, living in or around Whitehaven. Sadly, his wife's name doesn't match: mine married an Isabella, born about 1816 in Parton. William died sometime before 1860, when Isabella remarried John (?I think) BELL.
William and Isabella had at least 3 children: John (c1838), Thomas (c1840) and Jane (c1841). Jane married Henry Reeves: Jane and Henry are my great-grandparents.
More details can be found on my website: http://homepage.mac.com/johnpritt/prgl

Best regards, John
