I am looking for information with regard to my gggg grandfather William Hewitt (Hewett) and family. I have found one son, Edmund Hewitt born 1787 Campsea Ashe m Elizabeth Rackham (parents Philip Rackham & Elizabeth Garrod) in 1812 at Campsea Ashe. Edmund and (I assume) his brother-in-law John Rackham was left 4 businesses by the late William Hewitt (assuming this is Edmunds father) this was found in the Ipswich Journals (c1812). The businesses were based in Wickham Market, Tunstall, Glemham and Butley. They were Sadlers, Collar and Harness-makers and Felmongers. Any information that could shed light on the matter would be gratefully received.
