one of my many brick walls is the whereabouts of my BUNCE family between 1858 and 1881.
In 1851 John Bunce b circa 1821 Worcestershire a sawyer is living in Toxteth liverpool with his wife, Catherine b circa 1824 Toxteth, also his daughter Elizabeth b 1844 Toxteth.
In 1856 They had another daughter, Mary Ann born in Wood Green, Wednesbury. Then in 1858 another daughter Frances (Fanny) born 1858 in Walsall.
In 1880 Mary Ann married William Walters in Handsworth and in 1881 Catherine & Fanny were living with Mary Ann & William in Handsworth. Catherine is described as a widow.
I have searched free bmd & 1837 online for Elizabeth's marriage and John's death. I've found neither.
I have the ACDB 1861 Staffs census and have looked as much as I can for them. I'm still waiting for the 1871 census.
Has anyone any ideas please?

Yes Rob, I have that on pre-order, am waiting to see the money go from my bank, then I'll know it is on it's way.

Well I got my 1871 Staffs census today. It is brilliant, well done, made even better by my finding JohnBunce & family in Handsworth. I must now go through the 1861 also from ACDB but not such a clear film? it really brought it home how different the 1871 is to the 1861, looking at the same areas.
