Anyone know of a Thomas Wright who emigrated to New Jersey from Glasgow, Scotland, probably in the early 1900s? His parents were William Wright and Henrietta Trench. He had brothers William,David,Colin and my paternal grandfather, John.

Hi, Liza.

Do you have an approximate birth year for Thomas? There were literally hundreds of people by the name of Thomas Wright who arrived in New York in the late 19th to early 20th century. A birth year would help narrow it down.

Thanks!

Did Thomas come alone or did father William, et al come with him?

On 1920 US census there is 1 Thomas Wright, born Scotland, living New Jersey. He is age 40 and has wife Helen & children Anna, William, Thomas, Helen & Robert. All born Scotland except 2 youngest ages 7 & 5.

Question 13 -"Year of immigration to the US?" -1908 for Thomas, 1910 for remaining not born in US.

Question 14 - "naturalized or alien?" Thomas and Helen have 'Pa', children have 'al'. Have no idea what these mean. al - alien? Pa -Petition applied ?? Your guess is as good as mine.

Question 15 -"If naturalized, year of naturalization" - left blank by all.

Thomas' occupation is Carpenter and he works out of his house.

If this sounds like your man, it may narrow down immigration dates.
