Help please my gmother Mary Featherstone b about 1885 -1956 birth place unknown was told Scoltland but not sure she was left at about 8 years at the Burslem and Wolstanton union workhouse at Chell near Tunstall Staffordshire have looked at census for 1891 and 1901 but could not find her at 13 was sent to work in chipshop.
Have been looking for my gparants marrage so i can find her parants names my gdad was Thomas Barlow 1885-1946 born Tunstall Staffordshire they had 7 children including my father James, found one m for Mary Featherstone in 1902 but could not find match for Thomas thank you Val

I have located the Wolstanton and Burslem Union Workhouse listings in the 1891 census but I don't see Mary FEATHERSTONE -- Reference: RG12/2160 Folio 110 Pages 1-11. However, if she was left there at the age of 8, 1891 would be too soon -- she wouldn't be there before 1893. Perhaps she is still in Scotland in 1891.

Yes they are all my Barlow's have them back to 1750
but thank you for your time and it does look as if that is a very good match for my Mary they lived in america street all kids born there she is my brickwall at the moment. wish i had started this 31 years ago before my dad pasted sorry to ask another questine but can you get a marrage cert if you only know were one partner was born but know both names thanks again for your time Val
