On census returns my PEARCE/PIERCE family give their place of birth as STON EASTON. I have had no success in tracing these births (c1847). Can anybody tell me if they would have come under the district of Bath, or tell me where I can find this info.
Many thanks

According to Genuki --

http://www.fhsc.org.uk/genuki/REG/som.htm

Ston Easton belongs to the registration district of Clutton from 1837.

I find if I google the place name and genuki the info comes up first :D

Helo Annej,

Unfortunately, eldoop has not visited the forum since November 2007 and may not see your message. Hopefully, they will have email notification enabled, which could draw them back. :)

I appreciate that eldoop has not visited this forum for several years, but am nevertheless hoping that this message will get through. I have noticed a comment on an archived posting (found through google) that we are descended from common grandparents. Eldoop's great-grandmother Charlotte Frost was the sister of my great-grandmother Mary Ann McBay. Their parents were Charlotte and Calmady Pike.
