Visiting Kent a few years ago I found the baptisms of my 2nd gt-grandfather's children in East Sutton between 1816 & 1837, but no sign of his marriage - he is THOMAS TOWN, his wife's name, SARAH. Has anyone come across them? Or others of the Town family? I'd like a clue as to where to start looking for the marriage.

If they survived until the 1851 census, you'd know where they claimed to be born (particularly Sarah) - her birthplace might be a good place to start looking for the marriage.

Thank you. Harrietsham is where I'd suggest starting to look for the marriage. If unsuccesful, other parishes in the vicinity.

Thank you for your work in my behalf - sorry its been so long - life intervened!! This is great - I know they had a son Edward. He was baptised in e. sutton in 1828 but may not have been a baby. Anyway ages on censuses are not terribly reliable are they? I will now start to look for the Harrietsham connection. Bless you!
