mentioned in despatches

Could someone help please,
We have a certificate for my husbands grandfather, 'mentioned in despatches' I would like to find out where he served during the war, name George Green South Lancs Reg. 2nd Lt. attd. 6th bn. dated 11th November 1918 by a Lieutenant General W.R.Marshall. I have contacted the reg. museum without luck, any help would be appreciated.
