I know Newmaket is borderline for Cambridge but a lady did offer to visit the local history centre when it re-opened earlier in the year. I have lost her contact details and she may have done the same.
Here goes again:
I have ancestor, one George COLLETT of Rugeley, Staffs, who for many years up to his death lived with and had childen by Elizabeth HARRIS of Newmarket. (I am assuming that he may already have had a wife living).

The two oldest children were baptised at Newmarket (source = IGI):

William George HARRIS 08 AUG 1814 at Newmarket St Mary; mother Elizabeth Harris- no father's name given
Amelia HARRIS 24 NOV 1816 ditto
If anyone has the opportunity to look at the original baptism entries or other relevant records to see if a father's name is noted as a comment I would be very greatful.

Suceeding children were born in the Midlands.
I am reasonably confident that are siblings of an ancestor but would like more Newmarket information if possible.
Again from the IGI it seems Elizabeths parents were Daniel HARRIS and Ann BACKWITH (various spellings).

Many thanks,
John Bennett
