Trying to trace Amelia SPENCER (AKA Emma), born about 1816. In later census Amelia claimed her birthplace as Whittlebury, Northants, but she is not in the Parish Records. She married George SALMON of Chackmore, Bucks in 1843. On marriage entry her father was Samuel SPENCER, a Carpenter, no place of origin given. Can anyone help?

No sure if you have this...in 1851 she is claiming the same birthplace. You'll find her at HO 107 1724 folio 150.

There is also a Saml Spencer claiming the same birthplace. Too young to her father but maybe a brother? HO 107 1736 folio 448.

Thanks for the info & references. It still doesn't help to I/D her though - Have looked in the Parish Records and no reference to her birth. The Whitlebury Spencer's may be the same family though? Heve viewed ALL the census from 1851 to 1901 and her place of birth remains constant. Perhaps she was never baptised?
