Can any one help me.
Im looking for a Place,Farm, House.
Name Arrow End, Monmouth.
My Great Great Great Grandfarther was Born there about 1833.
Id like to know what Parish it is under.

It might help if you say who your ggg-grandfather was, and where you got the information, presumably the census. If you give the references so that others can look at the census pages someone may be able to come up with the information you are looking for.

At the moment I cannot identify Arrow End, which could be in the town or county of Monmouth from the information you have provided.

Could you tell us where William WALTERS was living when the 1861 census was taken - do you have the references for the 1861 census - film number, folio and page.

the reason I am asking is to understand whether the enumerator was local to Monmouthshire or not. The way we say things in this county can make a big difference to how they are written by people who don't live here.

I wonder if the address has anything to do with the River Arrow which flows through the adjoining county Herefordshire? I can't work out from my maps if it ever passes through any part of Monmouthshire.

My other thought is: could it be a mistranscription of a Welsh place name? (Aroen or similar - apologies to all Welsh speakers if this is too unlikely)

I have found from The Church of JESUS CHRIST of Latter-day Sants.
A William Walters.
Christening: 12 AUG 1833 Goldcliff Monmouth.
Farther William Walters.
Mother Mary Ann Walters.
Do any any one know if there is a House or a Farm in Goldcliff called
Arrow end I will know Im on the right road.
