my g-grandad like may was in the first world war.can anyone help in pointing me in the right direction.
he was
walter bailey

private a company
13th battalion yorkshire regiment
i have got his medal card from the archives website but cannot find much more out
any help would be appreciated

Surviving army records are held in the National Archives (TNA) at Kew. However, large numbers of those relating to soldiers who fought in WW1 were destroyed or badly damaged as a result of enemy bombing in WW2.
