Id appreciate if someone could look up James Pugh in the 1851 Census for me. He was born between 1834 and 1839 in either Arrow or Broadheath (Worcs.). Im not sure if Arrow was in Worcs or Warks at the time. His father was also James Pugh if that helps. He moved to Cheltenham by the time of the 1861 Census.
Thanks
Ken Harvey

Hi Ken,
I realise it is a while since you posted this thread but I wondered why you think it could be Broadheath or Arrow where James Pugh was born. There is a great distance between these two places and I am almost certain Arrow has always been in Warks. I looked on 1881 census for James Pugh in Cheltenham and it gives his birth place as Worcester. The only Pugh's in Broadheath 1851 are William age 56 and his wife Ann 69 born Worcestershire Not Known.

Well done Wirral, you could well have solved Ken's dilemma. Hallow is indeed the next parish to Broadheath and Broaheath was actually part of the parish of Hallow until its own church was built about 1900.
