Looking for any information on Paynes of Kettering. So far I have Cyril Payne the youngest of 16 children born on 28/08/1913. Parents James Payne a shoefinisher of 26 Victoria Street Kettering and Sarah Ann Payne nee Collings.
Know that Cyril had connections with the Salvation Army in Kettering as in 1928 he was commisioned as a member of the Salvation Army Young Peoples Band.
Any information appreciated.

I live in Northamptonshire but cannot find St Sepulchre Northamptonshire as stated in the census. Could you give me any ideas as to whether it is a district parish etc.
I am quite knew to all this and your help has been invaluable. Thank you

St Sepulchre is the civil parish, St Andrew's is the Ecclaisiastical Parish in the county borough of Northampton. If you look at a good map, I use multimap.com, and put in Francis st, Northampton, you'll see it where the A4500 and the A5080 cross.

My father is the George A (Amos) Payne mentioned in the 1901 census. Iwas absolutely amazed to come across it - accidently! There was a Jack Payne later too and others. In the middle of research and will keep in contact. I'm 67 and retired living now in Scotland but ocasionally visit my birth place of Kettering.
Thanks once more
