I am researching my ancestor, John Richards who married Margretta Davey when both the Richards and Davey family lived in Boswednack. John Richards was born in 1841 in Zennor, Margretta Davey was born in 1840 in St. Buryan as was her sister Elizabeth in 1834.
Margretta was a daughter of John Davey who was born approx 1812 in St. Just. John Davey had a daughter Jane born in St Just approx 1836 as well as a son John born in St. Just approx 1844.
Any information on the Davey (Davy) family would be appreciated.
Thanks,
James

Any baptism or marriage information would be fantastic. I believe that John Davey was married to Margretta or Margarett for whom the daughter was named after. There is some talk now that the John Davey we are related to had a sign put up in his honor for the Cornish language by the Old Cornwall Society.
This is the listing of the family in the 1851 census for Zennor
When they were in Treen and the census taker had Margrettas name as Margaret Davey

John Davey, head, mar, 38, farmer of 18 acres land, St Just
Margaret Davey, wife, mar, 39, St Just
Jane Davey, daur, unm, 15, St Just
Elizabeth Ann Davey, daur, 12, St Buryan
Margaret Davey, daur, 10, St Buryan
John Davey, son, 7, St Just

In the 1861 Census they lived in Boswednack and the name Margretta was spelled correctly, Jane had probably married by now.
John Davey, head, widr, 47, farmer of 20 acres, St Just
Elizabeth A Davey, daur, unm, 23, assistant draper, St Buryan
Margretta Davey, daur, unm, 21, dairy maid, St Buryan
John Davey, son, unm, 16, farmer's son, St Just
Ann Mann, servt, unm, 25, house servant, Zennor
Elizabeth Mann, servt, unm, 23, house servant, Zennor
