Looking for descendants of the family of Richard and Jane Gullett who emigrated to the Pontypridd area in the mid 1850-60s approx. They are in the 1881 census and also show up in the BDMs over the last 150 years. Richard was a railwayman in Devon in 1851 before moving to Cardiff area.

Anne you may have already seen this in the 1871 census:

Richard Gullett, 72, Head, Widower, Ag Lab, b Plympton St Mary, Devon

George Gullett, 27, Grandson, Ag lab. b Plympton St Mary, Devon

John Gullett, 17, Grandson, Ag lab, b Plympton St Mary, Devon

This taken from the Plympton St Mary Devon 1871 census.

May not be the same Richard but it could be your Richards father. Happy hunting.

Yes I do have all the Devon family. By then a lot were heading off to other places to look for work. They were trying to make things hard for me. Thanks for the reply
