Hello

I am trying to find out the details of the birth of Thomas Hussey who was born in 1830 in Adare, Limerick. He moved to London in approx 1860 (this is the earliest record I can find for him, as its when his first child was born in England). Is there any way of finding out his parents and also when he came to England? I have access to Ancestry (nothing on 1851 census) and 1837. Or would it be a case of having to travel to Ireland and trawl through parish records?

Any assistance would be gratefully received as there is no advice elsewhere on the internet (that makes sense anyway).

Regards

Samantha

You need to purchase his marriage certificate - if he married in England. It will show his father's name and occupation.

If you do not know his wife's name, then you need to purchase the 1860 birth certificate to find the mother's maiden name.

You also need to learn to use your internet search engine - as there is actually plenty of advice on the internet on how to research family history. :D

GENUKI is a good place to start.
